Daith Piercings: Super Cool Piercing or Miracle Migraine Cure?
Short Answer: Both.
Don't get us wrong, we aren't offering daith piercings as a cure to anything - we aren't doctors and we are not going to give anyone false hope, but we see a lot of people have success with their migraines after a daith piercing.
The Science Bit - currently there is no scientific evidence to suggest daith piercings are connected in anyway to your headaches or migraines. No studies have been conducted so there are no proven scientific results. However, a quick google search and you will see hundreds of results from people claiming it worked for them- and this is echoed in what clients feedback to us. So even though there is no solid scientific studies or evidence, who are we to take anything away from anyone if they are getting some relief from something as awful as migraines?
We really can't promise you will be cured, but we can promise you will have a well exectued, beautiful piercing in your ear. And if that well executed, beautiful piercing gives you some relief and makes your day to day life any easier then that's great news and we love to hear it!
We pierce thousands of daiths on an annual basis, and we can honestly say that the people who report success to us have had their lives changed - and that is incredible really, isn't it?
If having the piercing done doesn't go as planned for you, and you still have migraines/headaches, there is one thing to feel positive about, these piercings look amazing! They can be as dainty and subtle as you could ever want them or they can be as blinged out as you'd like too! There are tonnes of possibilites!
It's important to apply critical thinking if you are suffering from migraines/headaches before having this piercing. Have you made sure that you aren't going to someone who is going to exploit your suffering? Have you understood that this might not help you completely? And it's important to go to a piercer who can offer industry standard jewellery and offer appropriate aftercare advice, and be there to support your piercing healing.

Really enjoyed this post on daith piercings—love how it explores both the style and potential migraine relief. After getting mine, I found that using a piercing aftercare spray made healing easier and helped keep the area infection-free.
