We Love Rainbows!

Colour is a great tool if you are wanting to make your piercing look extra special, but you aren't a fan of gems. Or if you are just a big fan of colour. There are lots of ways to achieve the look you are wanting from your piercings, and today we are going to talk about what ways are safest and what you should avoid!

Anodising

First up...anodising. This method is great, as we can achieve the colour you want in the studio, without having to order anything and wait for delivery, as we have an in-house anodiser. We can change the colour of titanium jewellery to one of 32 different colours using this method.

Anodising is chemical reaction which works on select metals, causing them to change colour. This is the safest way to quickly achieve coloured jewellery, from gold, to purple, to green, to pink! Whatever suits you!

We can also achieve different effects using anodising, such as multiple colours, stripes and spots...this does depend on the style and size of the jewellery, but we are always happy to chat about how you would like your jewellery to look!

The chart on the left shows the colours that can be achieved, you can choose your favourite colour, or we can help you match the colour to your existing jewellery!

Anodising is great, too if you like to wear gold jewellery but perhaps have a sensitivity to the nickel in gold.

Or if you like to change your jewellery often and go for a really striking, individual look!

"But wait...I can't see black or red!" That's right, although the anodiser is magic...it can't achieve black or red body jewellery...next up we will talk about your options for black!

Blackened Niobium

Niobium is another metal which is great for body piercings, as it is just as safe as titanium but is often more flexible, it can also be heat treated to a dark grey colour, which looks amost black. We are able to order this jewellery into the studio at your request. It is still perfectly safe, and at the moment, heat treated niobium is the only safe, accessible way to achieve black...or nearly black body jewellery.

Still no red? Afraid not...we are still yet to find a safe way of achieving red body jewellery, but when we do you'll all be the first to know! In the meantime, we can offer red gems!

Coating and paints

A lot of body jewellery you see on the internet in colours is coated or painted, (yes, sometimes even when they say anodised!), it is not safe to wear coated body jewellery, the coating/paint can come off very easily and leave you exposed to the metal underneath which is very often exceptionally low quality and not safe to be inside your body!

We offer every safe way to achieve coloured body jewellery right here! Put your trust in the hands of professionals!
